Rachael Ray Renews Her Wedding Vows in Italian Castle — 10 Years After Saying 'I Do'

Rachael Ray’s 10th anniversary celebration had all the right ingredients — from a great venue (an Italian castle!) to the perfect guests (including her dog!).

The TV chef and her husband, John Cusimano, have an annual tradition of renewing their wedding vows at Castello di Velona, the Tuscan castle where they were married in 2005. Because this year marked a decade of marriage, the celebration, which took place Sept. 19, was even more special.

There “wasn’t a dry eye in the house” when the Rachael Ray Show host recited a Charles Bernstein poem called “All the Whiskey in Heaven” for the man she affectionately calls Johnny Walker — because of his love of the beverage — during her vows. “It basically says, ‘Under any circumstance, I would still choose you and I would still be with you,” the foodie, 47, told People magazine. “And I love you more than all the whiskey in heaven.”

Ray wore a dress with beading and sequins for the outdoor ceremony, which took place as the sun set. She carried a bouquet with sunflowers and roses.

The couple typically goes all out for the festivities each year, flying out 100 of their friends. The guests this year included Ray’s sister, Maria, and niece, Vivian, who were matron of honor and flower girl; Cusimano’s bandmate James “Roto” Rotondi, who officiated; their pit bull, Isaboo, who walked her down the aisle; and friends including Guy Fieri and Anne Burrell.

“We’ve done this celebration every year for 10 years,” Ray told the magazine. “We’re very busy; I have five jobs. We don’t see everybody often enough, and we probably take them and their friendship for granted. But they make us better people for knowing them.”

While the vows are special, Ray’s favorite part of the trip is the annual pajama party rock concert. Never been to one? Neither have we. She explained that they play music — and rock out in their jammies — into the next morning.

Now that she’s back at home home, Ray has returned to work on her five jobs, including preparing for the release of a new cookbook, Everyone is Italian on Sunday, which comes out Oct. 27.
