Rachel Zegler Rescues Onscreen Parents Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem from Curse in ‘Spellbound’ Trailer
Rachel Zegler is on a mission to save her parents in the first trailer for Spellbound, the upcoming Netfilx and Skydance Animation feature.
Zegler voices Ellian, the daughter of the king and queen of Lumbria. After a mysterious spell transforms her parents into monsters, she must go on a mission to save her family and the kingdom. The feature was previously set up at Apple, but moved to Netflix when Skydance Animation departed Apple for a pact with the streaming giant.

John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Nathan Lane and Tituss Burgess also voice star in the feature. Shrek co-director Vicky Jenson helms the project, which has a script from Lauren Hynek & Elizabeth Martin and Julia Miranda.
The trailer touts the work of Skydance Animation boss John Lasseter (without naming him), noting the film comes from the mind behind his Pixar hits such as Toy Story and Cars. Lasseter, who joined Skydance following is a producer on the project, along with Skydance head David Ellison and Dana Goldberg and Bruce Anderson. It has a score by Alan Menken, with songs from Menken and Glenn Slater.
Spellbound debuts on Nov. 22, and follows previous Skydance animation feature Luck, while projects in the pipline include Pookoo and Ray Gunn.
