Rachelle Lefevre cast as 'Under the Dome' female lead
The final major piece of casting for CBS’ Under the Dome has fallen into place: Rachelle Lefevre has landed the female lead in CBS’ summer thriller.
The actress will play Julia, an investigative reporter who’s just moved to Chester Mills who forms an interest in an Army veteran (Mike Vogel) on mysterious mission. They join a diverse cast that includes Dean Norris, Jolene Purdy, Nicholas Strong, Britt Robertson, Alex Kotch and Natalie Martinez.
Lefevre co-starred in CBS’ A Gifted Man, ABC’s Off the Map and the first Twilight film. Under the Dome is based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel about a small town abruptly sealed off from the outside world. The first season premieres June 24.
In other CBS pilot casting news, Tate Donovan (Damages) has joined the network’s Hostages pilot. He’ll play Toni Collette’s spouse on the show, “a distant husband hiding a secret from his wife who must protect his family in a hostage situation.”
