After having a few days to reflect, Ray J has issued an apology to Pastor Jamal Bryant after threatening the reverend over an unaired interview between them.

“PASTOR BRYANT! I take full accountability for my words!,” Ray, 43, captioned a black and white clip of himself apologizing on Instagram. “I apologize to you and the whole church community! What I did might be unforgivable but I still want you to know that I’m sorry and it was not ok what I did.”

He went on, “I would love to pray with you and hopefully we can work this out and maybe.. just maybe you can help me moving forward. I’m human and I made a big mistake with this one.”

Within the clip, Ray further expresses his remorse for talking out the side of his neck to a man of God.

“It’s not okay,” the former Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star said of his actions. “Speaking that kind of language to a pastor is unbelievable, it’s uncalled for, it’s disrespectful, it’s distasteful, it’s disgraceful in every sense.” Check out the full apology below.

Ray J’s initial comments found him irate at Bryant over an interview between them that has yet to be aired, with the “One Wish” singer threatening to snatch him “off the pulpit” if he were to share it with the public.

“Yo, I got nothing but love for Pastor Bryant. Shoutout to Jamal Bryant… but if y’all play that interview, somebody getting snatched off the pulpit,” the artist claimed. “Don’t play the interview, it’s not cleared, it’s out of bounds. Me and Pastor Bryant need to talk because the way I was treated was dirty and illegal.”

“And I don’t like it and I don’t want nobody to play that f**king interview—I don’t care if you from the church or not. Be respectful and do people right. Don’t call people out they name, don’t make people feel like they not safe in a place that they thought they were safe. I’m telling you right now, we need to work it out because if we don’t, it’s gon’ be a problem.“

“It was both surprising and disheartening to wake up to unfounded threats and baseless accusations directed at me,” Bryant shared. “As part of our commitment to honest dialogue, we ensured that specific comments with potential legal ramifications were edited out of the interview to safeguard the best interest of a brother beloved.”

“We are a live to tape production that ordinarily makes no edits,” he added. “However, in the spirit of brotherhood it was nixed with the agreement that no other adjustments would be made as The Jamal Bryant Podcast: Let’s Be Clear, endeavors to be earnest and transparent on every episode. I refuse to be embroiled in a battle that demeans our community and all that I stand for. I love my brother unconditionally and I stand on my agreed promise.”
