Fans most notably recognized him for portraying the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise, starring in the original trilogy (Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi).
James later reprised the now-iconic role in more modern movies from the hit franchise, including Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019). He also voiced Darth Vader in the TV shows Obi-Wan Kenobi and Star Wars: Rebels.
