‘The Real’ Host Jeannie Mai Is Getting a Divorce From Husband Jeezy After 2 Years of Marriage

The Real’s Jeannie Mai and husband Jeezy are getting a divorce after more than two years of marriage, Life & Style can confirm.

Jeezy, 45, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, filed for divorce from The Real cohost at Fulton County Superior Court in Fulton County, Georgia, on Thursday, September 14, according to court documents obtained by Life & Style. The documents reveal that he and Jeannie, 44, whose full name is Jeannie Camtu Mai Jenkins, are separated and that they have a prenuptial agreement. The filing also notes that Jeezy and Jeannie’s marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.”

Jeezy is asking for joint legal custody of their daughter, Monaco, whom Jeannie gave birth to in January 2022. The documents state that “final decision-making” will “be established in accordance with the best interests of the child as determined by the court.”

Jeannie, who served as a cohost on the daytime talk show The Real from 2013 to 2022, began dating Jeezy in fall 2018 after meeting on the show’s set. "I just got to know him in November," she said of the early days of their romance in 2019. "He's introspective. He's passionate. He's incredibly deep. He's a visionary. He's a great leader. He’s an amazing servant to his community."

The couple made their first public appearance at Jeezy’s Sno Ball Gala in Atlanta in April 2019. Their relationship continued to blossom in the following months, with the two spending Thanksgiving together that year.

In April 2020, Jeannie and Jeezy announced their engagement. “I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life loving you. … YES,” Jeannie wrote on Instagram on April 6 alongside a photo of them smiling on the beach. “Thank you, everyone, for celebrating this journey with us. We are praying love over everyone from here.”

Jeannie and Jeezy then tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at their home in Atlanta on March 27, 2021. A few months later, in September, they announced that they were expecting their first child after struggling with fertility issues. Jeannie admitted to Women’s Health at the time that she hadn’t always wanted children, but meeting Jeezy made her change her mind.

"When I say never, I’m talking a hard-stop never," she said. "Falling in love with Jeezy made me see life differently for myself. Our love is honest, pure, and safe … something I hadn’t felt as a child.”

In addition to sharing Monaco with Jeannie, Jeezy has a son named Jadarius, 27, with ex Tenesha Dykes, as well as a daughter named Amra Nor Jenkins, 9, with ex-fiancée Mahlet “Mahi” Gebregiorgis.

Before meeting Jeezy, Jeannie Mai was married to actor Freddy Harteis from 2007 to 2018.
