The Real Reason Ariana Madix’s Boyfriend Daniel Wai Didn't Want to Be on Vanderpump Rules
It turns out there's a simple reason Ariana Madix's boyfriend, Daniel Wai, wasn't a bigger part of Vanderpump Rules Season 11. During Part 3 of the Vanderpump Rules reunion, which aired Tuesday, May 28, Ariana broke down why we barely saw her guy — even when he was around.
"He's not getting paid," Ariana answered truthfully after host Andy Cohen asked why her New York-based beau didn't partake in any group activities during the cast's end-of-season San Francisco trip.
After Andy countered that he's "still your boyfriend," the Broadway star explained that Daniel had friends in the city that he got to hang out with instead. Plus, "he doesn't want to be on this show," she added.

Ariana's castmates, meanwhile, were understanding. "I felt like it was already such an awkward dynamic that was happening," Lala Kent noted. "I was like, 'Girl you've got it figured out. He's there when you come home and go to bed.'"
What does Daniel Wai do for a living?
Daniel is a man of many talents and keeps plenty busy with his career. First and foremost a fitness coach and personal trainer (he has online training courses available on his website, Daniel Wai Fitness), Ariana also revealed during the Season 11 premiere that he bartends.
"I train seven days a week and I bartend Friday and I do double shifts on Saturday," he explained to Lala in Episode 15.

Is Ariana still dating Daniel?
Ariana confirmed that she and Daniel are going strong with a sweet Instagram message for him in honor of his birthday on May 5.
"Happy birthday to the most handsome man I know who always lets me have the first and last bite," she wrote in the caption of the post for her boyfriend, which featured a photo of the two posing nose to nose.
In the comments section of the post, Daniel responded to his girlfriend of more than a year.
"Thank you so much," he replied. "Best year ever!!"
