Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman are reuniting for a brand-new television series this fall, but who says we can't get a preview of what's to come on one of Hollywood's biggest nights?

The former Reba co-stars are set to act alongside one another in the upcoming sitcom Happy's Place (premiering on Friday, October 18 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC) and folks got to see the longtime friends back in action at the 2024 Emmy Awards. Reba (whose current reality competition show The Voice was up for five trophies) and Melissa had fans' hearts pumping when they were on hand to present the award for Outstanding Scripted Variety Series, which went to Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. What's more, the duo couldn't help but get into a little bit of hijinks (involving remembering the nominees' names without the TV prompter) ahead of announcing the winner.

"You know, Reba, I have to admit, I'm a little bit nervous," Melissa joked in the beginning of their onstage moment. "I've never done this before, and I have watched the Emmys and a LOT can go wrong."

"Well, yeah, that's why we rehearsed! Anything can happen!" Reba hilariously replied as the audience cracked up in laughter.

Upon seeing the two go toe-to-toe in the comedy department, longtime fans of Reba couldn't get enough of seeing Reba and Melissa's well-loved rapport on screen once again.

"Reba and Melissa's bit was for the real fans… iykyk," one person exclaimed on X. "I am so happy Reba and Melissa Peterman are coming back to tv together," another agreed. "I love that 23 years after REBA premiered, Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman are still going strong as the perfect duo," a different viewer added.

As fans of both Reba and Melissa know, they played Reba Hart and Barbra Jean Hart respectively throughout Reba's six-season run. The two have since starred in a number of projects together, including the Lifetime movie The Hammer back in 2023.

As for how Reba and Melissa's friendship helps with their upcoming TV series, Melissa shared the importance of their camaraderie with People ahead of the 2024 Emmy Awards.

"I think that the chemistry that we have, that dynamic, it's there, so we're bringing that to Happy's Place," she told the outlet. "We have new characters, it's a new situation, so the chemistry is still there. It's that same dynamic that people want to see. We talked about it, that we've been waiting a long time, and this time feels right. It feels like we were waiting for the right cast, the right time, and we're ready."

We sure love to see it!
