Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman reunite at Emmys 2024 — tease new show together

Together again!

Former “Reba” co-stars Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman reunited on the Emmys 2024 red carpet at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles Sunday night.

The pair spoke to E! News’ Laverne Cox and teased their dynamic in their upcoming NBC sitcom “Happy’s Place,” premiering next month.

“I think it’s pretty much the same,” McEntire, 69, said on the carpet.

“I think our chemistry is so good, we are so good at playing off each other,” said Peterman, 53. “We are playing new characters in a new situation, but what we have together, that back and forth, it’s still there and it exists. It’s been so much fun.”

McEntire said, “It’s a blast to get to work together again. After the ‘Reba’ show, I was on tour and she’d come on tour with me and we’d do a bit in the middle of the concert. She got a bigger applause coming out than I ever did.”

The duo also gushed about the friendship they’ve built over the years.

“We’ve gone on vacations together. Raised our kids together,” McEntire shared. “Known each other a long time.”

When asked about the “wildest” story they have from their vacations, McEntire joked, “We can’t. We’d get thrown out.”

“Ask me to come back and I’ll tell you lots,” added Peterman. “Karaoke. Margaritas.”

McEntire also confirmed her boyfriend, Rex Linn, will appear in “Happy’s Place,” possibly as her love interest.

“It’s a possibility. Maybe like in Season 7. Maybe,” she said.

“Reba” aired on The WB and then The CW from 2001 to 2006.

The series followed a “single mom who works too hard” (McEntire) as she takes care of her three kids as she undergoes a divorce.

The Houston-set comedy also starred Christopher Rich as her ex-husband, who leaves Reba for his pregnant dental hygienist, Barbara (Peterman).

“Happy’s Place” received a pilot order in January.

The upcoming series will reunite McEntire with her old “Reba” showrunner Kevin Abbott, who is producing and writing the script.

McEntire is playing Bobbie, a woman who inherits her father’s bar following his death.

Belissa Escobedo will also star in the new show.

“Happy’s Place” premieres Oct. 18 on NBC.
