Reba Sends Straightforward Message to 'The Bear's Ayo Edebiri
After Ayo Edebiri finally met Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman at the 2024 Emmys as a major fan of the two actresses and their well-known sitcom Reba, McEntire decided to send a direct message to The Bear star that might just have her in shock.
McEntire took to Instagram with the help of NBC and E! News to do a special collaboration video with Edebiri, combining the younger actress' rendition of the Reba theme song with the original star's performance.
The 69-year-old then said to Edebiri, "Oh, it was so neat getting to meet you finally!" She went on to extend a very special invitation to her, saying, "And you know what? We always have a place at the bar, at Happy's Place. Come see us!"
McEntire was referring to the fictional bar in the new sitcom premiering in October, which is also the name of the show.
Peterman jumped in to add, "Yes! Please!! And the drinks are on me @ayoedebiri ?????? What a treat to meet you and your dad at the Emmy's! You are brilliant and so talented! We are huge fans!!!"
Edebiri responded in the comments, telling the sitcom stars, "Omg @reba @melissapeterman love y’all I am deceased ????."
Fans were just as floored by the fun moment, with replies like, "Such a heartwarming post ??," and "The duo we never knew we needed ????."
Others got excited about the possibility of rising star Edebiri, who won an Emmy last year for her work in The Bear, appearing in Happy's Place, with one commenting, "I'm already ready for Happy's Place but Ayo grst [sic] starring would be so great."
"The way in which I’m now praying for a guest appearance!!!!!??????," said another.
While Edebiri is quite busy these days, she might be able to fit in a visit to the small-town bar to have some fun with McEntire and Peterman on screen. Happy's Place premieres on NBC on Oct. 18.
