Rebecca Hall, Sabrina Carpenter, Jeff Goldblum Make Loewe’s Front Row
BIRDS OF A FEATHER: The colors — and celebrities — came out for Jonathan Anderson’s latest Loewe collection Saturday, with newly announced global brand ambassador Wang Yibo and “Espresso” singer Sabrina Carpenter among the guests brightening up the rainy Paris morning.
Wang was draped in a series of bright pink and yellow T-shirts reworked into a sculptural scarf, while newly announced friend of the house Tay Tawan Vihokratana sported intricate beaded trousers in the same bright colors from the winter 2024 collection that was inspired by Richard Hawkins.

“Espresso” singer Carpenter had on a minty green gown, which she had to lift as she crossed the slippery cobblestones, while Korean star Lee Jong Suk kept it simple in a gray suit.
It was the first time at a Loewe show for British actress Rebecca Hall, though she has known Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson’s work for years.
“I’ve been a fan of Jonathan’s forever. I went by his shop in Shoreditch a few years ago and thought, ‘This guy’s amazing, he’s brilliant.’ So I’m really excited to meet him,” she said.
“I love how there is a flare of avant garde, but it also feels immensely wearable. I love that there’s a kind of utilitarian quality to it, and it’s always inflected by art,” she added. “One of his influences are always artists or periods or genres, the whole Peter Hujar-inspired thing going on right now, and I’m a big fan of Peter Hujar’s photography and I love that.”
She was referencing Anderson’s invitation, a Hujar photo of a black-and-white high heel. The original was on display on the runway.
The actress has three films coming out later this year, which will mean more red carpets. She said there is no science to selecting what she will wear to big events.
“I’d love to say that there is a formula [but] there isn’t really,” she said. “It’s like does this make me feel good or not, and that’s it.”
But sadly, the creations are only hers for a night, as she doesn’t get to keep them. “Are you suggesting that I should? That would be theft! They ask for them back, you know,” she joked.
Jeff Goldblum was in a musical mood for the morning show, singing Cannonball Adderley’s 1960 tune “Work Song.”
He’ll be singing on the big screen soon in “Wicked,” in which he plays the Wizard of Oz in the film, opposite Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
“They are smashing,” he said of the powerhouse stable of costars.
Dan Levy is spending a few days in the French capital, for the Loewe show. He’s been a longtime fan of Anderson and attended several shows. “He’s always pushing people’s expectations of what fashion can be. And I think it’s always nice to watch collections of clothes that lead and don’t follow,” said the “Schitt’s Creek” actor, who was clad in low-key black.
Low-key would be pretty much the definition of his personal style, he joked. “Whatever is comfortable,” he said.
The actor has gone back to writing and has a new project coming up, which he would say absolutely nothing about. Bound by nondisclosure agreements, he kept his lips sealed. “I wish I could say more. It’s a matter of days, but yeah,” he hedged.
Morgan Spector made his first Loewe show after missing last season’s due to passport problems.
The “Gilded Age” star has become a sex symbol following his latest role.
“It feels great there’s no downside,” he joked about his newfound status. “But I live in upstate New York, it’s not like I’m going to the sex parties or something, so it feels very removed from my actual life. I’m like a working actor and a guy in my 40s who’s a dad who lives in the country.”
The Loewe collection had plenty of gilded looks, in gold feathers, baggy trousers and a sparkling singlet.
