Red Hot Summer has announced its return for 2025, bringing Australian hitmakers from the 80s, 90s and 2000s together for a mini-festival of homegrown nostalgia in the year’s first quarter. The touring festival will begin in early January on the Mornington Peninsula in outer Melbourne, and will conclude in late March with a date in Wodonga on the border of Victoria and New South Wales. The full line-up, as well as pre-sale and ticketing information, can be found below.

Headlining the festival are Icehouse, who themselves are no strangers to the Red Hot Summer touring circuit. The Iva Davies-led pop-rock band have toured around several milestones over the last few years – including their 40th anniversary as a band, the 40th anniversary of their debut album (released under their original name of Flowers) and the 40th anniversary of their signature song ‘Great Southern Land’.

Also performing will be Noiseworks, lead by frontman Jon Stevens – who himself is gearing up for a solo co-headlining tour later this year with longtime friend and Jesus Christ Superstar castmate Kate Ceberano. It was Red Hot Summer’s 2011 iteration where the original line-up of the band reunited for the first time since 1992 – which would remain intact until guitarist Stuart Fraser’s passing in 2019. The band released their first album in 30 years, Evolution, in 2022.

Icehouse – ‘We Can Get Together’

Red Hot Summer ran twice earlier in 2024: Once with Icehouse co-headlining with Scottish band Simple Minds, and the other with UK rock veteran Suzi Quatro on headlining duties. Acts such as Daryl Braithwaite, Cheap Trick, The Angels and The Screaming Jets rounded out the line-ups.

Several shows on Cold Chisel‘s upcoming tour, The Big Five-O, will be held under the Red Hot Summer banner. For the band’s shows in Armidale, Swan Valley, Ballarat, Mornington and Pokolbin, they will be joined by supports such as The Cruel Sea, The Superjesus, Birds of Tokyo and Karen Lee Andrews.
