Ree Drummond Issues Apology to First-Born Daughter With Throwback Baby Photo: 'It Was the Nineties'
Ree Drummond took a moment to wish her "first baby," eldest daughter Alex, a happy 27th birthday, honoring the special day by sharing a memorable and unique baby photo that she felt the need to apologize for.
The 55-year-old took to Instagram to celebrate the special day, writing, "Happy birthday to my first baby, ALEX! I’m so sorry I did this to you. It was the nineties, we new moms were hectic and very eager, and there was this mall kiosk I couldn’t look away from. I love you! ??."
The photo showed a very young Alex sitting and staring at the camera while decked out in a cute white dress, a flower wreath on her head, and white wings on her back. She sat surrounded by more flowers with a cloudy sky background.
Alex replied to Drummond in the comments, saying, "I can always count on the Angel mall kiosk photo to resurface annually. ?? Love you!!!"
Katie Lee Biegel, who co-hosts The Kitchen, shared her thoughts on the sweet photo, writing, "I’m pretty sure that if I walked by that kiosk at the mall, Iris would be dressed as an angel and getting her picture made," referring to her young daughter who was born in 2020.
Fans also loved the picture, with reactions like, "This is the best thing I have seen in a while. Thank you 90s ??????," and "Hilariously like something we’d all do!!"
A few suggested Alex recreate the photo soon, whether on her own or with her soon-to-be-born baby, with one fan writing, "Alex and Mauricio clearly need to recreate this for their birth announcement."
"And now her first born nugget can recreate the photo. ??," commented another.
Alex and her husband, Mauricio Scott, announced this month that they are officially pregnant with their first child. Drummond shared her reaction to the news with fans, celebrating the baby that will be her first grandchild.
