Reese Witherspoon Channels Elle Woods in Pink Dolce & Gabbana Skirt Suit to Tease ‘Legally Blonde’ Prequel at Amazon Upfronts

Reese Witherspoon took a hint from her “Legally Blonde” character, Elle Woods, while promoting the film’s new prequel series at the Amazon Upfronts in New York on Tuesday.

The actress sported a tweed Dolce & Gabbana skirt suit in the fictional Harvard grad’s signature color — pink — pairing it with blush-toned Christian Louboutin slingbacks. Gold jewelry by Anita Ko and Marie Lichtenberg completed her look.
Witherspoon walked on stage with a chihuahua in tow, an obvious nod to Woods’ beloved pet, Bruiser.
The “Big Little Lies” star wore her blond tresses in waves, while her makeup consisted of candy pink blush and a matching lip.
Witherspoon also took to Instagram to announce the “Legally Blonde” prequel, which is titled “Elle.”
“Before she became the most famous Gemini vegetarian to graduate from Harvard Law, she was just a regular ‘90s high school girl,” she wrote. “And all of you are going to get to know her, next year on @primevideo I’M SO EXCITED!”
“Elle” will be produced by Witherspoon’s own production company, Hello Sunshine, which she founded in 2016.
Released in 2001, “Legally Blonde” follows Elle Woods, a college student who enrolls in Harvard Law School in an attempt to win back her ex-boyfriend. The hit romantic comedy, based on Amanda Brown’s novel of the same name, costars Luke Wilson, Jennifer Coolidge and Selma Blair. A sequel, “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde,” premiered in 2003.
