Reese Witherspoon's Latest YA Pick for Her Book Club Is 'Amazing' & Already at 25% Off

If you’re a fan of Reese Witherspoon‘s famous book club, then you probably already know that she announced her September selection earlier this month. The pick, The Comfort of Crows by Margaret Renkl, had a special connection to the actress and just happened to mark the book club’s 100th pick.

But while members of her notorious book club might still be trying to get their hands on a copy, or making their way through the novel, Witherspoon, with the help of her lookalike nieces Draper and Abby, announced the book club’s latest YA pick today! In a short video on Instagram of all three, they announced their latest YA pick is Looking for Smoke by K.A. Cobell.
“POV: You and your BFFS can’t stop talking about your current read,” the caption reads. “???? Enter: our Fall YA.”
The caption then continued with a short synopsis of the story. “Looking for Smoke by K.A. Cobell opens with a tragedy striking the Blackfeet community,” it reads. “The story follows four main characters who are trying to clear their names after a murder—but can we trust Mara, Loren, Brody and Eli?”
“We can’t wait to hear what you think about our Fall YA Pick—read along with us all season!” the caption ended.
In the comments, some early readers are praising the selection. “Yes!!! This debut is amazing,” wrote one commenter on the debut novel. “Five stars all the way!”

The novel’s official description gives a few more clues of what’s to come in the story. “When local girl Loren includes Mara in a traditional Blackfeet Giveaway to honor Loren’s missing sister, Mara thinks she’ll finally make some friends on the Blackfeet reservation,” the description reads.
“Instead, a girl from the Giveaway, Samantha White Tail, is found murdered,” it reveals. “Because the four members of the Giveaway group were the last to see Samantha alive, each becomes a person of interest in the investigation. And all of them—Mara, Loren, Brody, and Eli—have a complicated history with Samantha.”
“Despite deep mistrust, the four must now take matters into their own hands and clear their names,” the description teases. “Even though one of them may be the murderer.”
