Report: Megan Thee Stallion Had Agreed To Do Something With Mercedes Moné, Possibly In AEW
Megan Thee Stallion‘s “Neva Play” song is the new theme song for WWE SmackDown. But according to a new report, there were at least expectations that she would work with AEW instead.
As previously noted, Mercedes Moné met Megan Thee Stallion at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in February. Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that this opened the door for negotiations between Stallion’s manager, Mike B of Roc Nation, and Moné’s manager, Keven Undergaro.
Per Johnson, the two sides agreed to do something together. Mercedes Moné mentioned the possibility while promoting AEW All In. “The CEO” openly said that she hoped to get Megan The Stallion in the ring.
Johnson writes that after Mercedes’ comments, WWE landed the deal to have “Neva Play” be the new theme song for WWE SmackDown. This was said to have caught Moné’s circle by surprise. There is no word on what, if any, impact this may have on any potential collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
