New restaurants: 3 chain coffee shops coming soon to the Treasure Coast

Three chain coffee shops are coming to the Treasure Coast soon, including one that's opening right next to a Starbucks.

7 Brew, a rapidly growing national chain of coffee "stands" with canopied drive-thrus and no indoor seating, is building its first Treasure Coast location on Okeechobee Road in Fort Pierce, just east of Starbucks. The company expects to open by the end of the year.

7 Brew has eight locations in Florida, the closest being Melbourne and West Palm Beach, and over 150 locations in the U.S. The first opened in Arkansas in 2017 with these seven original coffees:

Cali Coffee, a statewide drive-thru and walk-up chain that also doesn't have indoor seating, is planning to open 12 new locations in Florida, including Stuart and Port St. Lucie.

The Stuart location is expected to open this month in the newly constructed Pineapple Plaza on Federal Highway, said co-owner Craig Avera. The Port St. Lucie location is still in the planning stages and not expected to open until 2025, he said.

Avera started working in the coffee industry at age 16. He spent most of his life in Oregon and California and met Pennsylvania native Rose White while working together in the fitness industry in Los Angeles.

They moved from Hollywood, California, to Hollywood, Florida, in 2017, to build their flagship location. They wanted to open drive-thru “stands” because people are busy and typically don’t have time to park, get out and stand in line, he said.

Coffees can be served hot, iced or frozen, with options for milk alternatives and topping with cold foam. Flavors can be traditional or creative, such as banana nut, lavender haze and snickerdoodle. Cali Coffee also serves tea, chai, matcha, sodas, shakes, fruity drinks and energy drinks.

Cali Coffee has locations in Miramar, Hollywood, Cooper City and Pembroke Pines.
