RHONJ Season 14 Reunion Canceled for ‘Different Concept’

For the first time in its 15-year run, the Real Housewives of New Jersey won’t have a reunion. RHONJ Season 14 will be a season unlike any other, but perhaps not for the better.

Usually, when Bravo skips a reunion, the cause is low ratings or poor audience response. Season 14, however, is still an unfolding story. That being said, fans might know one big reason as to why a reunion just isn’t in the cards. Her name is Teresa Giudice.

Teresa’s refusal to film with her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, didn’t make Season 14 easy. The vitriol came to a head by the hotly-anticipated season finale which has yet to air. So, with all this hate in the air, what’s the plan going forward?

RHONJ producer says there’s “no path forward”

On June 1, PEOPLE exclusively reported that RHONJ would not have a traditional reunion. Why? Well, one insider explained the fact of the matter. “A reunion is meant to have resolution and it’s clear in the season finale that there is no path forward in that type of setting.” They added, “So the network is figuring out a different concept to wrap up the season.”

As for what that “different concept” might look like, the source unfortunately did not elaborate. One can only hope that the replacement idea might be as entertaining as a traditional reunion. Of course, those keeping up with Season 14 are likely aware of why things have to be different. From Season 14’s very first episode, fans had an inkling of what the finale might be like.

Season 14, Episode 1 saw the aftermath of an explosive fight at Rails Steakhouse. Dolores Catania sat alone at a dinner table with broken glass over the floor. When production asked her to describe the scene in one word, she said, “Horrible.” Dolores later said this fight would be the point of no return and would be “the finale of a lot of relationships here.”
