Ricky Gervais’s Golden Globes monologue gathers support from Yahoo readers
Ricky Gervais seems very comfortable making himself a controversial figure, and he did it yet again at last night’s Golden Globe Awards, where he went after the celebs in attendance with his outrageous brand of humor.
This show marked Gervais’ fifth time hosting and, according to him, also his last. For many in the room, that might have come as a relief, as they were on the receiving end of his jokes connected to ISIS and Jeffrey Epstein.
Still, it may be his last time hosting, but it certainly isn’t the first time he’s gotten Hollywood angry. He created a real stir most notably in 2011, when he hosted the show for the second time and made a number of celebrities in the room uncomfortable with his roasts about many of their personal issues and career missteps.
