Rihanna has been known to push the fashion envelope — resulting in many iconic looks — but even the Fenty founder has felt like she was doing "too much."

Specifically when it came to her 2015 Met Gala dress.

The theme of the evening was "China: Through the Looking Glass," and Rihanna, who was the last to arrive, showed out on the red carpet in a yellow Guo Pei creation.

"I remember being so scared to get out of that car because I felt like ‘I’m doing too much.’ I was driving past the red carpet and I was just seeing gowns, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m a clown, people are going to laugh at me. This is, like, too much,'" she told Access Hollywood during an interview Wednesday.

She said after circling three times, she finally mustered up the courage to get out of the car.

"I don't regret it," Rihanna said.

Given the extra-ness of the dress, the "Ocean's 8" actress recalled it took a lot of moving parts to figure out how to get her and the dress in and out of the car and to the Met Gala.

"That night, the choreography of getting in the car and getting out, like, we had to choreograph it,” she said. “Who sits at the door? Where does the coat go? Where do I sit?"

The night of the Met Gala, it took four adults to carry the train of her dress.

The musical artist was also asked about her upcoming album "R9" and if the coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on her music.

"R9 has been affected tremendously over the years because basically I've got other babies to tend to so it's not all of my attention on one," Rihanna said. "I love making music so I never neglect it. I always get to it and get back to it, but there's other things on the carousel now, so I have to pay attention to everything and stay on top of everything."

She added that given her different ventures, music will naturally take a hit.

"Music is still my first love and so I can't wait to put something out that I'm really proud of and excited about and it probably is going to be sooner than my fans think, but I'm just going to leave that alone," Rihanna said.

The artist's fans have been known to pester Rihanna about the status of her album, especially after she mentioned it would be coming some time in 2019... and it didn't.

In the last days of 2019, Rihanna teased fans waiting for an update on the status of "R9."

The Barbadian singer shared a video to Instagram of a dog sitting in a box excitedly bobbing its head back and forth to the tune of "Jump Around" by House of Pain."

Rihanna captioned the post, "update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it."
