Rihanna Teases Upcoming Savage X Fenty Drop In Racy Video
Navy, save the date! Rihanna is working on something new with her Savage X Fenty brand. A video shared across Bad Gal Riri and Savage X Fenty social media accounts teases a potential rebrand of the lingerie and loungewear company, pegged to Thursday’s date (Aug. 1). The Savage X Fenty Instagram grid was cleared out prior to the upload.
The clip makes use of various special effects including night vision lighting and changes in speed. With the Savage X Fenty brand named in the beginning, the video takes the mother of two to a parking garage, a long hallway, and an empty room. In the racy visual, the 36-year-old applies (likely Fenty Beauty) lipgloss, wearing an assortment of heels, jewelry, outerwear, and lingerie.
“My body, my feeling, my being, my flavor,” narrates the “Umbrella” performer.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, Savage X Fenty appointed Vanessa Wallace as Chief Marketing Officer last week. Previously, Wallace worked as head of brand marketing at Nike, led marketing efforts for the Jordan Brand in North America, and launched the Jordan Brand Women’s Collective.
“I’ve always admired Rihanna as a fashion icon, musician, and fearless entrepreneur,” Wallace told WWD in an exclusive statement. “She has undoubtedly created something very special with Savage x Fenty, and I firmly believe in the brand’s impact on millions of consumers. My goal is to build on this tremendous momentum and ensure we remain at the forefront of culture and drive the industry toward greater inclusivity.”
The clip could signal the return of the Savage X Fenty fashion show ahead of New York Fashion Week. The highly choreographed runway show was a once-annual event, not hosted by the brand since November 2022. It could also simply precede a new collection, as the Fenty mogul is not hesitant to update every release with a promotional campaign.
Earlier this month, Rihanna enlisted her current romantic partner A$AP Rocky, and their eldest child RZA to star in the Savage X Fenty Classics campaign featuring boxers, tees, and briefs.
According to the official website, Savage X Fenty embodies fearlessness, confidence, and inclusivity. The brand, which sells merchandise in sizes ranging from XS to 4X, claims to disrupt the marketplace by providing accessible price points, and an extensive assortment of styles with a unique approach that celebrates individuality.
