Rising country artist Wyatt Flores releases his new single — 'Milwaukee'
Oklahoma native Wyatt Flores, 22, is poised for one of the biggest country music breakthroughs of 2024. And his new single named after a certain city could help him get there.
No, it's not named after Oklahoma City or Tulsa. It's called "Milwaukee."
"Somewhere in Milwaukee/There's snow covering concrete/And I still see you walking away," Flores sings on the sparse but piercing heartbreaking ballad, in the vein of fellow Oklahoman Zach Bryan. "And I tried to say I'm sorry/That frozen rain kept falling/And I couldn't find the words to make you stay."
The single was released Friday after Flores teased it on social media Sunday, on the heels of his debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry.
No word yet when Flores, who has several sold-out shows scheduled through February, will actually get to play "Milwaukee" in Milwaukee. But he'll be hitting several festivals this summer, including a couple in Illinois around Summerfest's window, so don't be surprised if he gets booked for the Big Gig.
