Rising star Ivan Cornejo first headliner revealed for Summerfest's BMO Pavilion in 2024
Regional Mexican music was one of the fastest-growing genres in the United States in 2023, and Milwaukee's Summerfest is making sure it's part of the lineup mix in 2024.
Rising 19-year-old star Ivan Cornejo is the first headliner revealed for the BMO Pavilion during this year's festival. He'll close out the stage on Summerfest's final night, July 6.
With Latin music exploding in popularity across the past seven years, the dearth of emerging Latin stars has been a glaring weakness for Summerfest's annual lineups. But the Cornejo booking is encouraging, following headlining slots for reggaeton artist Lunay in 2021 and Mexican rapper and singer Santa Fe Klan last year.
As has been the case for BMO Pavilion headliners during Summerfest, there will be reserved seats for the lower bowl for Cornejo's show, available at 10 a.m. Jan. 19 at the box office (200 N. Harbor Drive) and summerfest.com. Prices have yet to be announced, but reserved seats will cover Summerfest general admission for July 6. There also will be seating available for Summerfest general-admission ticket-holders on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cornejo is the first BMO Pavilion headliner to be revealed for 2024, but five of the nine shows at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater have already been announced. Tickets are on sale for Kane Brown (June 20); M?tley Crüe (June 21); Tyler Childers with S.G. Goodman and Adeem the Artist (June 28); Keith Urban with NeedToBreathe and Lindsay Ell (June 29); and AJR with Carly Rae Jepsen (July 4).
Summerfest will take place June 20 to 22, June 27 to 29 and July 4 to 6.
