Rita Ora has a multitude of reasons to be happy with life right now. The British pop singer has emerged as an international media darling with a soaring profile which extends from the studio to the stage, and the small and screens. She’ll have a new album out before Christmas, she’s a judge on Britain’s X Factor reality TV show and her stint in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie franchise has helped establish her one of the hottest young stars right now.

Billboard caught up with Ora during the iHeartRadio Music Fest 2015 to discuss her forthcoming studio release, which the Roc Nation artist describes as “the most honest album I’ve ever put out.”

The set was recorded in London, with Ora gathering a team of “young and hungry” collaborators. She’s worked with the likes of Major Lazer, Chris Brown and songwriters Felix Snow, the Monsters and Julia Michaels ahead of the new release, which should arrive in November. It’s the follow-up to 2012’s Ora, which topped the Official U.K. Albums Chart on its release.

“Well, this is exciting because I’m super stoked to tell you that I’m releasing my first worldwide album which will be available in the States,” she explains. “I’ve never really had an album out in the States and in specific regions. It’s going to be available worldwide and its an exciting time because right now, that’s what music’s all about — it’s all about mixed cultures.”

Ora is also looking forward to the release in 2017 of Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel in the Fifty Shades trilogy, in which she plays the character Mia Grey. “I’m so happy to be a part of this franchise,” she says, “and this transformation of…imagination of sex.”
