Memphis RiverBeat Music Festival's almost here. Here's everything you need know to plan ahead
The new RiverBeat Music Festival is almost here, and with artists like The Fugees and Jelly Roll coming, it's time to start getting things together.
As 2024 is the first year for this new festival, there are many unknowns about how it will operate. Will it be the same rules as Beale Street Music Festival? Will there be new rules since the festival is smaller?
With the festival taking place in the newly renovated Tom Lee Park, there is a likelihood things will be a little different this year to keep grounds damage to a minimum.
Here is what we know about the rules for this year's event.
Where is the RiverBeat Festival located?
The RiverBeat Music Festival will be at Tom Lee Park from Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5. Tom Lee Park is located on Riverside Drive in Downtown Memphis.

What times do the gates open for RiverBeat Music Festival?
Gates open at 4 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The park and festival will close at 11 p.m. every day.
Where do I park for RiverBeat Music Festival?
There will be premium parking available nearest to the venue. These parking spaces must be purchased when buying tickets online.
The Downtown Memphis Commission has a list of all parking lots Downtown.
What is the bag policy for RiverBeat Music Festival?
Patrons can expect a bag check at every entry point to the park.
Bags no larger than 6 inches by 9 inches are allowed and do not need to be clear. Any bag larger than those dimensions may be brought into the park. Clear bags larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches are not allowed.
Hydration packs are allowed if they are empty, have no more than two pockets and carry 1.75 liters or less.

Though the goal of the festival is to have fun while listening to good music, there are some rules about what can and can't be brought inside the gates to make sure everyone can enjoy it together.

Sunscreen lotion (no aerosol cans allowed)
Blankets 8’x10’ max size

Non-professional cameras
Small compact personal umbrellas

Lawn chairs or stools including inflatables
Tents, shade covers
Cameras with detachable lenses
Any recording equipment, audio and video
Umbrellas
Flags, banners, or signs
Water guns or any toy weapons of any kind
Pets with exception for service animals- see pet policy on website
Coolers
Non clear bags
Backpacks
Laser pens, pointers, etc… anything with laser
Drones of any kind
Outside food or drink
Liquids of any kind
Fireworks
Torch style lighters
Guns
Knives
Weapons of any kind
Illegal substances including drug paraphernalia
Selfie sticks
Professional radios/walkie talkies
Balloons of any kind
Stickers or adhesives

Will there be places to fill up water bottles?
Festival attendees will be allowed to bring one empty, refillable water bottle with them into the festival. There will be hydration stations to fill the bottles up at.
Will there be accessibility accommodations at RiverBeat Music Festival?
There will be ADA viewing areas at each of the main stages, and all entrances are ADA accessible.
The festival will have accessible restrooms around the park located near entrances and stages.
Pets are not allowed at the park, but service dogs that provide assistance to an individual are welcome. Emotional support animals are not permitted.
