‘RM: Right People, Wrong Place’: Doc About BTS Star’s Second Album Recording Premiering At Busan
Here’s a coup for the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF): A documentary about BTS superstar RM will premiere at the event.
RM: Right People, Wrong Place is the first solo documentary about RM and follows the recording of his second album, which has the broadly the same title and was released back in May. Lee Seokjun, who also produced BTS bandmate J-hope’s music videos ‘Arson’ and ‘MORE,’ is the director.

The film has been officially invited to BIFF’s ‘Open Cinema’ section and will be screened outdoors at the the Busan Cinema Center ahead of a global theatrical release later this year. Tickets are due to go on sale soon. CJ 4DPLEX announced the screening and the theatrical release alongside BTS’s label HYBE, which produced the film.
Right People, Wrong Place is billed as a “candid journey of BTS’ leader RM as he navigates the complexities of being a global superstar and the person Kim Namjoon [his given name]. Primarily set in the locations where RM intensely worked on his album, director Lee Seokjun takes viewers on a journey through Seoul, Tokyo and London, offering an in-depth look at the creative process behind RM’s second solo album.”
Gyewon Suh, GM of HYBE Media Studio said Right People, Wrong Place was the first doc focused on a K-pop artist to be selected for BIFF, where it will get a “large-scale outdoor premiere.”

The news comes on the same say BIFF unveiled its full program. Park Chan-wook’s Netflix title Uprising will open the fest with Eric Khoo’s Spirit World the closing night film.
