Rob Delaney, Co-Creator Of ‘Catastrophe’ & Star Of ‘Deadpool 2’, Joins Jay Roach’s Roger Ailes Film
EXCLUSIVE: The casting continues on Jay Roach’s untitled Roger Ailes movie with Catastrophe co-creator Rob Delaney the latest big name to join the cast.
Delaney, who had a breakout role in Deadpool 2 alongside Ryan Reynolds, is set to star in the film, which includes A-list names such as Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Charlize Theron and John Lithgow.
Delaney, who co-created and stars in the Amazon/Channel 4 comedy alongside Sharon Horgan, is set to play one of Megyn Kelly’s producers in the feature, which is being co-financed and produced by BRON Studios. Lionsgate is selling international and close to closing a deal to co-finance and distribute domestic on the movie.
Written by Oscar winner Charles Randolph (The Big Short), the untitled film focuses on the women who rose up against network boss Ailes and his toxic male culture.
Lithgow plays Fox News founder Roger Ailes in the feature with Theron playing Kelly, Nicole Kidman will play Gretchen Carlson, Margot Robbie will portray producer Kayla Pospisil, Allison Janney will play trailblazing feminist lawyer Susan Estrich, Twilight star Ashley Greene will play former Fox & Friends host Abby Huntsman, Alanna Ubach will play Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, Elisabeth Rohm plays Martha MacCallum, The Haves and the Have Nots Bree Condon will play Kimberly Guilfoyle, Hotel Mumbai star Nazanin Boniadi plays former Fox News reporter Rudi Bakhtiar and Spencer Garrett plays Sean Hannity. Kate McKinnon, Mark Duplass, and Alice Eve also star.
Delaney, whose Catastrophe returns for its fourth season early next year, is represented by Avalon Management and WME.
