Rosamund Pike Narrates 'Pride & Prejudice' 10 Years After Starring in Film Adaptation
Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike is getting back to her roots. The Gone Girl star has teamed up with Amazon’s audiobook division, Audible, to narrate the Jane Austen classic Pride and Prejudice and, in a behind-the-scenes look at her recording, she’s proving why she was the perfect fit for the job.
Not only is her British accent lovely, but she also starred in the 2005 film adaptation with Keira Knightley and his giving voices to all the different characters. “I hope people enjoy what I’ve done with it and find my characterizations convincing,” she says. “I’m constantly listening. I’ll get out my iPhone and make a recording of someone that might have some characteristic that’s useful for a character. I have sort of strange system for notation that I’ve developed over time of indicating to me where the thoughts are going so my script for doing these is covered in arrows and directions. It’s funny it wouldn’t make any sense to anyone else but I can follow it.”
