Rosario Dawson Embraces the Dark Side in Monochrome Black Look for ‘Ahsoka’ FYC Event in Los Angeles
Rosario Dawson opted for monochrome dressing for the “Ahsoka” FYC event in Los Angeles. The actress and activist embraced the dark side with her sartorial statement, and was joined by fellow cast members Hayden Christensen and Natasha Liu Bordizzo for the “Star Wars” series event on Sunday night.
For the occasion, Dawson fashioned an all-black look. The actress wore a long-sleeved black turtleneck, a coordinated midi skirt, and matching black heels. Dawson did, however, leave room for a few pops of color in her accessories and other elements of her look.

The actress wore metallic pieces of jewelry, including a pair of gold statement earrings, a silver ring and a gold ring. She also fashioned a septum ring for her nose piercing. Dawson’s nails provided a pop of color in a shade of ruby red.
Dawson opted for a clean look for her makeup, with a bold, smokey eye and natural lip hue. Her short hair included some fringe, which perfectly framed her face.
Dawson wasn’t the only “Ahsoka” star who opted for monochrome dressing. Her costars, Hayden Christensen and Natasha Liu Bordizzo also went for single color-dressing inspiration.
Christensen fashioned a look with various shades of green. Bordizzo, however, went with yellow-and-off-white and white dressing for her look. Bordizzo’s look also featured hip exposures and she wore white sandal heels to complete the look.
While Dawson has been busy with various “Ahsoka”-related endeavors, the actress has also spent a lot of time with her label Studio One Eighty Nine, a direct-to-consumer, African-inspired lifestyle and fashion brand, alongside Abrima Erwiah, the founding director of the Gromek Institute for Fashion Business at Parsons School of Design.
Dawson and Erwiah’s company utilizes fashion as an agent of change, focusing on sustainability and empowering artisans. It’s also a way to honor both Erwiah and Dawson’s respective heritages, something the actress spoke to during a conversation with Fairchild Media Group editorial director James Fallon at FMG’s Wear House event during SXSW last March.
“We have a different moment to really honor what those different challenges were and create something new. That’s what fortifies me,” Dawson said. “I came from that mindset of burn-the-candle-at-both-ends. And I believed if you’re not stressed out, you’re not working hard enough. In my lifetime, I have realized how unsustainable that is. There is a different way.”
“Ahsoka” is a TV series set in the “Star Wars” universe. The show follows former Jedi Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. The series is available to stream on Disney+.
