Rose McGowan and partner Rain Dove spring to action in attempt to save car crash victim in Hawaii
Rose McGowan and her partner, Rain Dove, found themselves in the middle of an emergency situation over the weekend.
The actress was vacationing with the model, who prefers non-gendered pronouns, on the island of Hawaii when they found themselves being called to action after a man was seriously injured in front of the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Kaupulehu on Sunday. Amid the chaos, Dove administered CPR, and the ailing man was transported to the hospital. Sadly, the ending wasn’t a happy one. The victim ultimately died.
Big Island Now first reported the news, detailing how the man suffered a heart attack while driving and crashed his car. Dove “ran onto the scene” with McGowan to give mouth-to-mouth and do chest compressions — along with another unidentified person who knew CPR — and “brought him back to life,” according to a witness. It was a hairy scene — the man’s pulse briefly returned, then it stopped, then it was back. On Monday, Dove took to social media to share that the man died at the hospital.
Unfortunately the individual from the accident passed away at the hospital. It’s devastating news. Please consider getting ur First Aid certification. The ability to be able to even try is a great honor. Sometimes you’ll even save a life. But at least U know U tried. #firstaid pic.twitter.com/6kSJst4iGB

Dove downplayed their part, saying it was just humans helping another human, noting it wasn’t a solitary effort.
They called it a “joint effort” and said everyone helping “acted with passion and respect to each other.”
Honestly it was a joint effort that kept that person alive. Everyone acted with passion and respect to each other. I wasn’t the first person on the scene. Others dragged them from the car and provided the first compressions. Honored to have met You. Xx together friend.

More importantly, Dove stressed the importance of learning CPR, noting that many people on the scene didn’t know how to help. They wrote: “The ability to be able to even try is a great honor. Sometimes you’ll even save a life. But at least U know U tried.”
Before the victim’s fate was known, McGowan also posted about the accident and the importance of CPR. She said she will be taking a CPR class next week.

Dove noted that “there are many ways to assist” in an emergency. “Doing the medical actions isn’t the only important thing!,” they later tweeted. “Sometimes slowing traffic and preventing further stress can save a life.”
The couple told the news site that they were in town to unwind and do some writing. McGowan is a frequent visitor to the island.
In the same string of posts about the accident, Dove also addressed a recent report relating to the ongoing feud they are having with actress Asia Argento. Asked about this story claiming Argento filed a police report accusing Dove of “deception” for obtaining texts about her underage sex with Jimmy Bennett, Dove called it “fake news” and continued to promote the very real need for people to get their CPR certification.
Because it’s fake news and boring.
