Roseanne Barr shades Wendy Williams with 'husband' comment

Roseanne Barr openly shaded Wendy Williams on Wednesday's episode of "The Wendy Williams Show."

Barr appeared on Williams' talk show to talk about the revival of "Roseanne," which returned on Tuesday night to record-breaking ratings over 20 years after the show's initial run came to an end.

During their interview on Wednesday, Williams brought up that Barr's ex, actor Tom Arnold, had been hired by The Hollywood Reporter to review the new version of the series -- but Barr wasn't interested in going down that road.

"I don't like talking about husbands," Barr proclaimed. "Right, Wendy?"

The comment seemingly alluded to the rumors that Williams' husband, Kevin Hunter, had been cheating on her with massage therapist Sharina Hudson for almost 10 years. The Daily Mail reported the alleged affair and claimed that Hunter had gone so far as to purchase Hudson a $750,000 house miles away from the home that he shares with Williams in New Jersey.

After the studio audience collectively gasped at Barr's comment, a flustered Williams said, "I don't mind talking about husbands! He's fabulous." Barr responded with a raised eyebrow.

Williams had previously denied the allegations that her husband was having an affair. In a comment to Page Six last year, the television personality's rep said that "one plus one does not equal three. This woman is a friend but there is no 'there' there."

"Roseanne" returned to ABC on Tuesday night to over 18 million viewers, which more than doubled ABC's initial projections. The Wrap noted that the premiere marked the best demo number for any sitcom in nearly four years and bested the total viewership for its final season back in 1997.

Donald Trump reportedly called Barr personally to congratulate her on the success.
