Roxanne Perez: I’m The Prodigy And You Can’t Break Me
Ever since capturing the NXT Women’s Championship, Lyra Valkyria has been determined to be a fighting champion. This past Tuesday night on WWE NXT her next challenger was determined. It was none other than the former Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez.
For a while, the self-proclaimed Prodigy had been picking up losses. She lost against Kiana James inside a steel cage at NXT Deadline. She wanted to put an end to her losing streak. Roxanne Perez did exactly that last night on WWE NXT. She was one of the contestants in the 20-Woman Battle Royal to determine Lyra Valkyria’s next challenger.
This was not an ordinary Battle Royal as the final four in the match will wrestle in a Fatal-Four-Way match. The winner of that would earn themselves an opportunity to face Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Champion at the Vengeance Day Premium Live Event.
After a hard-fought battle, Roxanne Perez hit the Pop Rox on Kelani Jordan and pinned her to pick up the win.
After the win, Perez was interviewed backstage. During the interview, the Prodigy mentioned that she never doubted herself.
“What does it mean to me? I just stood in the ring with 19 other women and prevailed. It was me against the world tonight. But did I doubt myself? No! But I am pretty sure every single person out there did. Just like they have been for the past year. When I said that I am the best damn woman in this locker room, I wasn’t lying. I’ll say it once, I’ll say it twice, I’ll say it a third time. I’m the prodigy and you can’t break me,” Roxanne Perez said.
What was your reaction to Perez winning? Do you think she will once again become the NXT Women’s Champion?
