A Royal Typo Stole the Spotlight in Princess Beatrice’s Pregnancy Announcement—See What Happened
Exciting news for royal fans: Princess Beatrice’s pregnancy announcement confirms that a new royal baby is on the way! That’s right, the palace announced via social media that Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are going to be welcoming their second child sometime next year. However, the excitement over Princess Beatrice’s pregnancy announcement was overshadowed by a typo from the Royal Family's social media team.
The typo in Princess Beatrice’s pregnancy announcement
The princess’ pregnancy was announced on X around noon on October 1, with the post reading, “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year; a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna. “
“His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
However, according to Hello!, there was a typo in the initial announcement. The news publication claims that the account initially typed out "Her Royal Highes," instead of “Her Royal Highness,” but soon deleted that post and made a new one.
The palace has yet to comment on it, but most of the reactions to the post celebrate Princess Beatrice. The Prince and Princess of Wales—Prince William and Princess Kate—even took time to congratulate them in the comments.
All about Princess Beatrice
Princess Beatrice was born on August 8, 1988, to Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York. Prince Andrew is Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip’s third child, making Princess Beatrice Prince Charles III’s niece.
Growing up, the princess was fifth in line for the throne, but after the birth of William and Kate’s children and Meghan and Harry’s children, she has now been bumped down to ninth.
Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020, and the pair now has two children, one of which Mozzi shares with his ex-wife.
“Beatrice is already showing that she’s a fantastic step-mom already,” a source said back in 2019. “They’ve been on family vacations together already. They are really happy. There’s no better person they could have for a step-mummy.”
Beatrice herself also opened up about being a stepmom to Wolfie, saying in 2020, “This year, I had the great honor to become a stepmother and have had the most remarkable time going back over some of my most favorite stories at bedtime. Together, we had such a special time reading through all the entries for the Oscars Book Prize 2020.”
The couple then welcomed their first child together in September 2021, with Mozzi writing on Instagram, “Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. Our life together has just begun, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things that await us. Feeling so much love and gratitude for my amazing wife, baby Sienna and Wolfie. These are the days I never want to forget. This week, a friend said to me the sweetest saying...that with every child, you grow a whole new heart. A massive thank you to the Midwife and the amazing team at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.”
The soon-to-be mother also has one sister, Princess Eugenie, who has been married to Jack Brooksbank since 2018. Princess Eugenie also congratulated her sister on Instagram, writing, “Congratulations, Beabea. So looking forward to more on this journey of motherhood together. And adding another little one to the gang.”
