RUEL Joins DMA’S Live in Sydney to Premiere New, Unreleased Collaboration
RUEL jumped onstage with fellow Australian pop rock act DMA’S over the weekend to perform a new song, while also teasing that there “might” be more coming soon. The surprise collaboration went down at DMA’S’ headline show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Saturday, 14th October.
RUEL appeared onstage to perform the plaintive song with DMA’S, adding his ethereal vocals to an Oasis-adjacent ballad, singing alongside DMA’S’ Tommy O’Dell.
DMA’S on RUEL collab: “Might be more coming soon”
DMA’S are in the middle of a national tour behind their latest album, How Many Dreams?, which came out in March. The tour itinerary has included some sixteen shows across the country, with the RUEL appearance providing an unexpected cherry on top of the big old DMA’S cake.
As to the collaboration, background information is relatively scant. In a caption accompanying an Instagram post from DMA’S, the only information given was that it was “still [being] worked on”, and that this was a “test run.”
“Might be more coming soon,” DMA’S wrote. RUEL showed up in the comments to say, “thanks 4 having me fellas, love this one.” DMA’S recently let slip an unheard demo of their breakthrough hit ‘Delete.’ Find that here.
