‘The Running Man’: Lee Pace Latest To Join Glen Powell In Edgar Wright’s Reimagining At Paramount

Lee Pace is set to join Glen Powell in Paramount’s reimagining of The Running Man, sources confirmed. Edgar Wright is directing the pic he co-wrote with Michael Bacall. The film is based on the novel by Stephen King that the author published under his pseudonym Richard Bachman.

The film, which also has cast Josh Brolin, Karl Glusman, Katy O’Brian and Daniel Ezra, has a November 21, 2025 release date. Wright is also producing with his producing partner Nira Park and Simon Kinberg. George Linder will executive produce.

The Running Man was made famous by the 1987 movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. King’s futuristic novel is a chase thriller set in a dystopian America in the year 2025. The story centers on Ben Richards, a desperate man who participates in violent reality show called The Running Man in order to win enough money to revive his gravely ill daughter. The show follows Richards being chased by numerous hunters sent to kill him.

Pace is best known roles include Marvel villain Ronan the Accuser in Guardians of the Galaxy. He most recently starred the Apple TV+ series Foundation, which will be entering its third season.

He is repped by WME and Peikoff Mahan Law.
