Ryan Eggold, Kevin Del Aguila Join Daniel Dae Kim In Broadway’s ‘Yellow Face’; Complete Cast Announced
New Amsterdam star Ryan Eggold and Tony Award-nominated Kevin Del Aguila will join the previously announced Daniel Dae Kim on Broadway this fall in David Henry Hwang’s much anticipated Yellow Face.
Eggold will be making his Broadway debut.

Complete casting for the production was announced today by the Roundabout Theatre Company, and also includes Francis Jue, Marinda Anderson, Greg Keller and Shannon Tyo.
Yellow Face, directed by Leigh Silverman, will begin previews on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Roundabout’s at Todd Haimes Theatre, with opening night on Friday, October 1, 2024, 227 West 42nd Street) on Broadway. The limited engagement runs through Sunday, November 24.
The synopsis: Inspired by real events, the playwright’s fictionalized doppelg?nger protests yellowface casting in Miss Saigon, only to mistakenly cast a white actor as the Asian lead in his own play. This Obie Award-winning and Pulitzer finalist play is a laugh-out-loud farce about the complexities of race.
Kim, best known for his breakthrough performance on Lost, stars as the playwright “DHH,” with Del Aguila as “Actor A,” Eggold as “Marcus,” Francis Jue as “HYH & Others,” Marinda Anderson as “Actor B,” Greg Keller as “Reporter/NWOAC,” and Shannon Tyo as “Leah & Others.”
Del Aguila received a Tony nomination for his performance as Osgood in Some Like It Hot on Broadway. Other Broadway credits include Frozen and Peter and the Starcatcher, among others. He is an Emmy-winning TV writer, lyricist for the stage and screen, and book-writer of the musicals Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Man, Madagascar and Altar Boyz.
Eggold starred as the lead of NBC’s series New Amsterdam for its five-season run, and prior to that starred in NBC’s The Blacklist franchise. He can next be seen in Cross for Amazon, based on the popular book series by James Paterson. Films include Tyler Perry’s A Jazzman’s Blues, Never, Rarely, Sometimes, Always and Spike Lee’s Blackkklansman.
Jue was Obie-nominated for his performance in the NYC debut of Yellow Face at the Public Theater Off Broadway, and has appeared on Broadway in Pacific Overtures, Thoroughly Modern Millie and M. Butterfly. Film/TV credits include Our Son, Madam Secretary, New Amsterdam and Hightown, among others.
Anderson’s stage credits include Merry Me, Sandblasted, Bella: An American Tall Tale, and A Life, Far from Heaven. TV includes The Gilded Age, A League of Their Own, New Amsterdam, Madam Secretary, and Gotham.
Keller has originated roles in plays by Suzan-Lori Parks, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Amy Herzog, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Sarah Ruhl, Ayad Akhtar, Richard Greenberg, Clare Barron, Abe Koogler, Julia Cho, Moises Kauffman, Theresa Rebeck, Mara Nelson-Greenberg, Jordan Harrison, Jenny Schwartz, Daniel Goldfarb, Sheila Callaghan, Melissa Ross, Zayd Dohrn, Larissa Fasthorse, David Grimm, Rachel Bonds, Sam Marks, and Robert O’Hara.
Tyo has appeared on stage in The Comeuppance, So the Birds Are, The Far Country, The Chinese Lady, and others.
The creative team for Yellow Face includes Arnulfo Maldonado (Set Design), Anita Yavich (Costume Design), Lap Chi Chu (Lighting Design), Caroline Eng and Kate Marvin (Sound Design & Original Music) and Yee Eun Nam (Projection Design).
