Ryan Gosling to Sing ‘I’m Just Ken’ at 2024 Oscars
After plenty of speculation as to whether or not it would happen, Ryan Gosling will apparently be performing “I’m Just Ken” at the Oscars on March 10.
Variety has reported that Gosling, who starred as Ken in last year’s Barbie movie, will be singing the Best Original Song-nominated tune at the 96th annual Academy Awards next month. The outlet notes that earlier this month, the actor said he hadn’t been asked by the Academy to perform the song, though that seems to have changed in the weeks since.
You can listen to the song yourself below:
“To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken,” reads Barbie’s synopsis.
Who starred in Barbie alongside Ryan Gosling?
Barbie was directed by Greta Gerwig from a screenplay she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach. It was produced by Robbie and Tom Ackerly for LuckyChap and Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner along with Josey McNamara and Ynon Kreiz. The film starred Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Hari Nef, Will Ferrell, Helen Mirren, Dua Lipa, and more.
