Ryman Auditorium adds new pieces to its exhibition of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame artifacts
The Ryman Auditorium's continuing partnership with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has brought more artifacts to country music's Mother Church than ever before.
Rock Hall inductees including Ray Charles, Bo Diddley, Etta James, Brenda Lee, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Moody Blues, R.E.M. and Diana Ross will now have pieces of their legendary history housed on Lower Broadway.
For the past two years, the "Rock Hall at the Ryman" program has honored the 100+ Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees who have performed at the Ryman throughout its century-plus-long history. Artists include country music icons Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and Hank Williams, plus a diverse mix including James Brown, the Foo Fighters, and Elvis Presley, among many being highlighted.
In 2022, the Ryman was designated as an official Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Landmark alongside 11 other rock & roll institutions nationwide, including Austin City Limits and Whisky a Go Go.
New exhibit items include a jumpsuit owned and worn by Diana Ross, a Dyna-Sonic snare drum from R.E.M.'s Bill Berry's original drum kit, a tuxedo worn by Ray Charles and a dress made to be worn by Brenda Lee during the filming of Smokey and the Bandit II. Plus, a 1976 Lynyrd Skynyrd tour jacket and band-signed Remo drumhead used during Lynyrd Skynyrd's November 13, 2022, performance at the Ryman.
Entry to "Rock Hall at the Ryman" is included in all daytime tour tickets at the Ryman, which also features, via the "Rock Hall" collaboration, access to Johnny Cash's legendary tour bus "JC Unit One."
