Sabrina Carpenter Gives Millie Bobby Brown Furry Handcuffs for ‘Being Too Hot’ at Short n’ Sweet Tour
Carpenter made sure to add a 'Stranger Things' reference at the Tuesday, Oct. 22 concert
Each night of Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet tour, she "arrests" someone for "being too hot." At a recent stop in Atlanta, a Stranger Things star was the latest to be taken into "custody."
"I’m really distracted right now because I see this gorgeous girl," the "Please Please Please" singer, 25, said before summoning her backup dancers during her Tuesday, Oct. 22 tour date. "I’ve fallen and I can’t get up. This girl is so hot."
In fan-captured footage, Carpenter then asked: "Who are you, what is your name?" before a camera revealed Millie Bobby Brown in the audience.
A graphic with the caption "you're under arrest for being too hot" was then displayed over Brown's face.
"I’ve never fallen in love at a concert before but stranger things have happened," the "Espresso" musician said, nodding to the hit Netflix series that stars Brown as red and blue police lights were flashing.
Carpenter was apologetic about the citizen's arrest, telling Brown, "It’s so unfortunate we have to arrest you because you’re so beautiful, that sucks." She also said her clothes were now "embarrassed" as her skirt dropped to reveal a much shorter skirt. Not one to skimp on puns or theatrics, Carpenter bestowed a pair of fuzzy pink handcuffs to an excited Brown.
The Enola Holmes actress, 20, isn't the only person to become flustered by Carpenter at her concerts. At another recent tour stop, the singer's "on and off" boyfriend Barry Keoghan was spotted in the crowd. When she sang the "Bed Chem" lyrics, "Who's the cute boy with the white jacket and thick accent?" an excited Keoghan could be seen covering his face with a piece of paper.
Carpenter is currently in the midst of her 2024 Short 'n' Sweet headlining tour across North America.
The now 47-date run throughout the U.S. and Canada kicked off in Columbus, Ohio on Monday, Sept. 23 and has hit cities including New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago. The pop star is set to conclude the tour on March 26, 2025 in Milan.
Amaarae, Griff and Declan McKenna will be supporting Carpenter throughout the tour.
Additionally, Carpenter partnered with PLUS1 on this tour to launch the Sabrina Carpenter Fund, which "will support the well-being of people and animals, including national and local organizations working on the issues of mental health, animal welfare, and support for the LGBTQ+ community," per a press release.
