Sadie Sink gets by with a little help from her musician friends!
While attending Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood Celebration event at The Santa Monica Proper Hotel on Thursday, Aug. 8, the actress, 22, opens up to PEOPLE exclusively about starring in the upcoming rock opera O'Dessa.
Detailing how she "was trained in musical theater" at the start of her career, Sink says, "That's kind of how I got into all of this, but I haven't really touched on that since I was younger."
"So getting back into it, I definitely leaned on a lot of my closest friends who are in the music industry, and they helped me come out of my shell in that space a little bit more," she continues.
Adds the Stranger Things star: "I'm excited for everyone to see it because it's a combination of basically everything that I've done in my career so far, and it'll be exciting to share it."

Along with Sink, the film — directed and written by Geremy Jasper — also stars Kelly Macdonald, Mark Boone Junior, Regina Hall, Murray Bartlett and Kelvin Harrison Jr. and features original songs written and produced by Jasper and Jason Binnick.
Sink has been busy recently, currently filming the fifth and final season of Stranger Things and gearing up for the release of A Sacrifice.
She recently starred in 2023's The Whale, for which she earned a nomination for the Critics' Choice's movie award for best young performer.
O'Dessa is scheduled to be released sometime in 2024.
