More from Footwear News
Valentino brought star power to Paris Fashion Week today at their 2025 “Pavillon des Folies” show.
Harry Styles, Salma Hayek, Carla Bruni, Jared Leto, Elton John, Hari Nef and Girls Generation’s Yoona all sat front row, clad in Valentino wears from head to toe.
The showing, brought to life by the brand’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele, was set in a salon atmosphere fixed with moody lighting and mirrored flooring resembling broken glass. The show centered around beauty and its purpose. Michele’s show notes called for a “remedy for the anguish that arises from the ephemeral and undetermined nature of our destiny.” The clothing shown was informed by the brand’s archives and Michele’s maximalist touch reminiscent of his time at the helm of Gucci.
In honor of Michele’s official runway debut with Valentino and the star-studded front row, FootwearNews is rounding up the best celebrity footwear moments from the “Pavillon des Folies” show.
Salma Hayek
The “From Dusk Till Dawn” actress sported a pair of light pink satin platform sandals. A favorite of Hayek’s, the shoe choice featured rounded open toes, thick platform soles, thin ankle straps, adjustable buckle closures and lofty 4 to 5-inch block heels. The thespian can usually be found in similar silhouettes in a variety of styles from brands like Gucci. The silhouette worked to elongate her frame, creating the illusion of length.
On the outfit front, Hayek popped on a lavender lace dress with long sleeves and sparkling appliques. The star also sported a floral brooch, lots of pearls and a silk head wrap, likely all courtesy of Valentino.
Andrew Garfield
The “Spider-Man: No Way Home” star also went the classic route in a pair of Valentino loafers. The look was comprised of lush black leather uppers, almond-shaped toes and gold hardware depicting the brand’s logo fixed to the tongue. Sophisticated and stylish, the hardware brought life and a touch of shine to the otherwise simple silhouette.
Additionally, Garfield was outfitted in black tailored trousers, a white and blue pinstriped button down and a wool jacket trimmed with white and black striping.
Jared Leto
Like many men at the show, the “Suicide Squad” actor donned loafers. The Valentino pair featured black leather uppers, square toes and a slip-on construction. The pair had no visible branding on them like other loafers featured on some of the other male guests.
Leto also wore a bright blue satin robe embellished with sequins along with a belt and black tailored trousers.
Harry Styles
Mirroring his peers at the show, the “As It Was” singer also sported Valentino loafers, this time in chocolate brown. Brown leather uppers gave way to almond-shaped toes, gold Valentino hardware and rubberized non-slip soles. The silhouette is one the performer gravitates toward often, usually worn during formal occasions like this one.
Paired with his slip-on shoes, Styles was outfitted in dark gray tailored trousers and a bright orange sweater with bright blue contrasting lettuce trim. Black Aviator sunnies finished off his look.
Elton John
The musical legend went sporty for the occasion, popping on a pair of neon sneakers. The footwear choice featured breathable mesh neon green and bright orange uppers. White trim and neon green laces offered an extra pop of color while gray non-slip rubberized soles kept the shoe grounded. Paired with deep red socks, the sneaker look was a colorful feast for the eyes.
Sticking to his classic look, John donned a lavender tailored suit paired with a printed button down and heart-shaped brooch.
Hari Nef
The “Assassination Nation” actress shined brightly in gold and silver sandal heels. Worn overtop calf-length white socks, the shoe featured metallic contrasting gold and silver straps, almond-shaped open toes and 2 to 3-inch stiletto heels. The sock and sandal pairing was a polarizing one but acted to cement the retro-inspired vibes featured throughout her look.
Cozying up, Nef donned a tweed tan coat fixed with fur accompanied by a tweed skirt and an off-white turtleneck made of a sheer lace fabric.
Yoona
Harkening back to the ballet core trend, the K-pop idol took the front row in white pumps. The star’s shoe choice included white leather uppers, bow appliques and short walkable heels. The look is girly and chic, especially when partnered with her lacy tights.
Giving flapper vibes, Yoona donned a scalloped and bejeweled mini dress fixed with a large floral brooch. The star also carried a Valentino mini bag in white, matching her shoes, and a blush pink headwrap.
