Amid filming for Season 8 of Outlander, Sam Heughan found time to slip away and enjoy a hike through the Scotland mountains—and the "gorgeous" photos he posted from the excursion delighted fans.

On Monday, July 29, the actor behind Jamie Fraser took to Instagram with a carousel of stunning nature pictures.

"Scotland ya BEAUTY! ?????????????????????," he captioned his update.

In the first two snaps, Heughan showed his view from the mountains with a hazy background. The next two segments, however, showed clear shots of the lush green surroundings amid a magnificent sunrise.

Fans gushed over the enviable photos in the comments, with one writing, "Thank you for sharing these images. The landscapes are majestic."
