Sam Heughan Sends a Direct Message to Fans for 'Outlander's 10th Anniversary
In honor of Outlander's 10th anniversary, Sam Heughan sent a direct message to fans of the popular Starz series.
The man behind Jamie Fraser took to Instagram on Tuesday, Aug. 6 with a video announcement ahead of the 10-year milestone. In the clip, the Scottish actor donned a costume from the show as its theme song played softly in the background.
"If you didn't know it, this Friday is a big day," Heughan, 44, said to the camera while walking. "It's the 10th anniversary of Outlander. Can you believe it? Ten years! A decade."
He continued: "Well, we couldn't be here without you guys, the fans. So a huge thank you to all the fans who have supported us over the years."
As part of celebrating Outlander's 10th anniversary, Heughan revealed the cast will head to New York City in October for two special events. They will appear at PaleyFest on Oct. 16, followed by a Season 7 Part 2 New York Comic Con panel on Oct. 17.

In the comments, Outlander fans congratulated Heughan on the milestone anniversary and shared their love for the series.
"Season 2… time travel is real! ??," the show's official Instagram account quipped, noting Heughan misspeaking in the video (although he corrected himself in the caption).
"?????? Season 2...Season 7, it's all a fine blur at this point!" another joked.
One Instagram user wrote, "Happy 10th year!! So much to be proud of!! Literally my favorite show in all my 40 years with many of my favorite actors. ????."
"10 years and what a ride it's been. ??," someone else declared, while another shared, "Can't wait to see you all at Paleyfest!!!!! My favorite cast of all time!!!!??????????."
The Starz series, which premiered on Aug. 9, 2014, drops Season 7 Part 2 on Nov. 22. Meanwhile, Outlander's eighth and final season is expected to premiere in mid-to-late 2025.
