Sam Neill Re-Enacts Classic Scene From 'Jurassic Park'

Sam Neill stopped by The Graham Norton Show where host Graham Norton asked him about shooting the classic scene from Jurassic Park when Neill, playing Dr. Alan Grant, sees a dinosaur for the first time. Neill explained that what he was really looking at was director Steven Spielberg waiving a tennis ball at the end of a long stick.

Norton wanted to recreate the scene with British comedian and actress Miranda Hart playing the Laura Dern role, Ewan McGregor as the director, and comedian John Bishop playing the tennis ball…or, rather, the dinosaur. Norton even provided a hat and sunglasses resembling the ones worn by Neill in the scene.

When McGregor says, “Action”, Neill slowly turns his head, removing the hat and glasses just like in the movie. And, just like Dr. Grant does with Dern’s Dr. Ellie Sattler in the movie, Neill reached down and turned Hart’s head toward the would-be dinosaur.
