Sandra Lee and Jason Biggs Search for the Best State Fair Baker in New Netflix Show — Watch the Trailer (Exclusive)
'Blue Ribbon Baking Championship' hits Netflix on August 9
Sandra Lee and Jason Biggs are teaming up to crown the country’s best blue ribbon baker.
Lee and Biggs will host Netflix’s new show, Blue Ribbon Baking Championship, which sees 10 bakers from state fairs across the country compete for $100,000.
“The great American state fair — the sights, the smells, the rides. But at the heart of these state fairs is the time-honored baking competition,” the American Pie star says in the trailer, shared first with PEOPLE. “Hometown pastry masters have had their sights set on the same singular prize — the illusive blue ribbon.”
“In the baking world, ribbons are everything," adds one contestant.
Lee, who came up with the concept for the show 12 years ago, not only hosts alongside Biggs, but she also serves as executive producer and head judge. A blue ribbon-winner herself, the Semi-Homemade Cooking alum will be joined by two other judges: Former White House pastry chef, Bill Yosses, and award-winning artisan baker, Bryan Ford.
“This is going to be a very tough competition,” Lee says in the teaser.
Along with the cash prize, the bakers are also battling it out for the Best in Fair ribbon throughout the eight, 45-minute episodes.
“We’re going to challenge you to re-think iconic fair foods and specialty ingredients,” Lee tells them in the clip.
The contestants even manage to make Lee emotional with their food. In the trailer, the Emmy winner sheds a tear as she tries one special treat. “It is the perfect cake,” she says. “It is literally making me cry.”

The show also promises some drama. In the trailer, one contestant deals with broken glass from a double boiler incident, while another puts out a minor fire at her station — but it's nothing these blue ribbon winners can't handle.
Blue Ribbon Baking Championship premieres August 9 on Netflix.
