Sarah Chalke Remembers Auditioning to Play ‘Second Becky’ on ‘Roseanne’
Long before she became famous for playing Dr. Elliot Reid on Scrubs, Sarah Chalke played Becky Conner on Roseanne. More specifically, Second Becky. Chalke joined the show in 1993, replacing Alicia Goranson as the eldest Connor child. Seated beside her onscreen sister from the show, The Talk co-host Sara Gilbert, Chalke remembered what it was like auditioning to replace one of the main characters on the hit show.
Chalke recalled, “Every other actress that was there was 21 and living in L.A., and really acting. And I was 16 and had done a few of the string of terrible movies of the week that shot up in Vancouver, like Dying to Belong, Relentless: The Mind of a Killer…”
She was also nervous because the audition required her to make out with Irish actor Glen Quinn.
Chalke and Gilbert will be sharing the screen once again for the Roseanne reboot due out in 2018. Something both actresses are very excited for.
