Sarah Drew Stars as a Single Mother Helping Her Daughter Fill Out Her Family Tree in Hallmark's 'Branching Out'

What is Branching Out about?
Ten years ago, Amelia Weber (Drew) had a baby on her own. Today, Amelia’s charming daughter Ruby (Cora Bella) is her everything. When Ruby gets a school assignment exploring heritage and creating family trees, she notices hers is small and sparse. With the help of a DNA test, Amelia learns that Ruby’s father T.J. Cruz (Di Pace) lives nearby. Meanwhile, the endearing T.J. is a professional guitarist who hasn’t found success the way he always dreamed. Amelia makes contact, and to her surprise, T.J. wants to meet Ruby. T.J. has a huge family, and suddenly Ruby’s family tree has sprouted leaves! Romance takes flight as Amelia gets to know T.J. and is invited to take part in his family’s Mexican traditions. Along the way, Amelia’s protective instincts – both for herself and her daughter – are challenged, especially when T.J. gets the chance of a lifetime that might take him away. With the help of an adorable little girl who has a big heart and a thousand questions, Amelia and T.J. discover that family trees can be complicated and wonderfully unique, especially when love is what ties everyone together.

Meet the cast of Branching Out
Sarah Drew (Amelia)
Sarah Drew is best known for playing the role of Dr. April Kepner for nine seasons on ABC’s hit series Grey’s Anatomy. Most recently, she wrapped production on the upcoming Apple TV+ comedy series, Amber Brown and recurred on Freeform’s Cruel Summer. Previously for Hallmark, Drew starred in the Countdown to Christmas original movie Christmas in Vienna and in the Hallmark Mystery Original, Guiding Emily. Feature film credits include starring in the lead role of Sony’s Moms’ Night Out, The Baxter, alongside Elizabeth Banks and Paul Rudd, and Radio, alongside Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ed Harris. Drew got her start as a series regular on the hit show Everwood and has been working nonstop ever since.

Juan Pablo Di Pace (T.J.)
Juan Pablo Di Pace is a multifaceted artist; an actor, musician and director. On television, Di Pace co-starred in Fuller House. He also starred in the Paramount Network movie, Dashing in December and in the Hallmark Channel movie, Raise a Glass to Love. He appeared on the 27th Season of Dancing with the Stars and became a semi-finalist, garnering numerous perfect scores throughout the competition. He also appeared in the film, Mamma Mia.
Cora Bella (Ruby)
This is Cora Bella's first big role and we hope it's a breakout one for the young actress. Her previous credit includes a short called, Test Drive.
