Sarah Ferguson Celebrates 'Amazing' Daughter Princess Beatrice's Birthday with Previously Unseen Photo
The Duchess of York praised her eldest daughter as "the most amazing daughter, mother, stepmother, sister, wife and woman"
Sarah Ferguson is wishing her daughter Princess Beatrice a happy birthday with a sweet, never-before-seen photo of them together.
Princess Beatrice turned 36 on Aug. 8, and her mother posted a loving tribute on Instagram in celebration of the occasion.
"Happy birthday, my wonderful Beatrice. You are the most amazing daughter, mother, stepmother, sister, wife and woman! I feel so privileged to be able to learn from you every day," the Duchess of York, popularly known as Fergie, captioned the photo.
"You continue to inspire me and those around you with your warmth, curiosity, and zest for life. I love you. Happy birthday," she added.
The black and white snap was a previously unseen, undated photo of the mother and daughter. The outdoor shot showed the pair wearing casual clothes with their hair pulled back in ponytails. Princess Beatrice sweetly leaned on her mother's shoulder, as Fergie seemed to kiss her on the head.

The Duchess of York, 64, shares her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, with her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, and her birthday shoutout highlighted her elder daughter's many roles. Princess Beatrice is married to property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and they share a daughter Sienna, 2.
Princess Beatrice became the first member of her generation of the British royal family to step into the role of a stepparent when she married Edo, 40, in July 2020, as he has a son Christopher Woolf, 8, from a previous relationship. A source previously told PEOPLE that she embraced the position from the start.
"Beatrice is a wonderful and very hands-on stepmom," the source said at the time. Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter has since brought her young stepson into the royal fold by taking him to events like the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, the royal family's traditional Christmas walk at Sandringham and Kate Middleton's Together at Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey.
Princess Beatrice is known to share a tight bond with her sister Princess Eugenie, 34, and their mother Fergie, and the Duchess of York has cited her family as a strength while navigating two cancer diagnoses in the last two years.
Speaking to Hello! magazine in June, Fergie said she has been transparent with her daughters about her health.
"I have always brought up my girls to be so honest and frank that they know I’m going to tell it to them straight, however difficult it is," the Duchess of York told the outlet. "So when they said, 'Mummy, tell us the absolute truth — have they got all the cancer out?' and the answer was yes, they knew they were safe."
"I have the most exceptional family and I have an extraordinarily great team and I have an enormous ability to turn to joy," she added in the interview, published on June 2.

In June 2023, a spokesperson for Fergie announced that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a successful single mastectomy. The Duchess of York documented her recovery on social media and raised awareness around early cancer detection through screenings.
Fergie shared in January that she was diagnosed with malignant melanoma following a post-operative analysis of a mole removed during reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy. The Duchess of York thanked the clinic where she was treated in Austria in a shoutout on social media, and a source told PEOPLE in March that Fergie was "very relieved" to learn that her skin cancer had not spread.
In May, Princess Beatrice described her mother as being "all clear" following the scares.
The royal family has faced an unprecedented crisis this year as King Charles and Kate Middleton also undergo treatment for cancer, and the Duchess of York told PEOPLE about how family comes first.

"I think family unity is key…I think the key to life is that we all support each other," Fergie told PEOPLE.
"And also forgiveness is a great thing. I think forgiveness of yourself and forgiveness of others," she added.
