Sarah Paulson Pumps Up the Volume in Sculpted Bottega Veneta Wedge Shoe, Talks Taylor Swift Fandom
More from Footwear News
Sarah Paulson is back on the circuit to support her new project “Hold Your Breath.” For the film’s promotion, she’s been hitting a series of press interviews in rapid succession and making good use of her longtime stylist Karla Welch. In the past 24 hours, the pair have cycled through three different looks, all finished with a pair of black heels. And for the most recent spot on “Good Morning America,” Paulson went with a unique pair of wedges.
While wedges aren’t the trendiest silhouette at the moment when compared with others like the kitten heels, slingbacks and mules, they have been steadily in the rotation recently. (At Paris Fashion Week, Chloe reasserted its commitment to the style with a jelly slingback wedge.) Paulson’s was Bottega Veneta’s Punta style.
The Punta is a Veneta silhouette offered as a mule, slingback, mule, and more. When done as a wedge, like Paulson’s style, it includes a sculpted, curved heel. And while some versions do not come as a wedge, they often include a narrow pointed toe as well as a rubber-injected, ridged sole. That base will prevent slipping.
$1,100
Paulson’s footwear choice included all of this. The pull-on style also included a pointed toe vamp. It appears most stores have sold out of the classic black leather Bottega Veneta Punta pump, as the brand calls it, which hails back to designer Mathieu Blazy’s fall 2022 debut. Moda Operandi still has some available for $1,100.
Paulson styled the shoe with a fringe look from Veneta. The outfit was from the brand’s spring 2024 collection and matched a peplum top with a wrap skirt. She carried a woven bag as well.
Kendall Jenner wore a version of the shoe to the brand’s spring 2025 presentation. Sitting alongside notable attendees like A$AP Rocky, Julianne Moore as well as I.N. of Stray Kids, Jenner sported a pair of crocodile-embossed burgundy Punta wedges from Veneta.
This was only one of Paulson’s looks, of course: She also wore black heels for “Watch What Happens Live” and an interview at SiriusXM Studios.
While interviewing with SiriusXM she talked about being part of the Taylor Swift fandom.
