Sarah Shahi, Scandal's Bellamy Young, thirtysomething Alums and More Join Netflix's Dolly Parton Anthology
Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings will get a tug from Bellamy Young (Scandal) and Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest), among many other TV stars, later this year.
Netflix’s Parton-centric anthology series — which will use music from the country legend’s songbook to inspire the plot of each episode — has recruited more than a dozen actors to appear in newly announced standalone installments.

The roster also includes thirtysomething alumni Patricia Wettig and Timothy Busfield (who will reunite in the episode titled “Sugar Hill”), The Practice‘s Camryn Manheim, The Americans‘ Holly Taylor and Oscar winner Melissa Leo.

“Cracker Jack”
Cast: Sarah Shahi, Rochelle Aytes, Jessica Collins, Tammy Lynn Michaels
Two stories — one past, one present — about the power of unconditional love between a girl and her dog, and that same girl, now grown, who questions what her life means and who she can truly count on when faced with her greatest fear.
“Sugar Hill”
Cast: Patricia Wettig, Timothy Busfield, Virginia Gardner, Tom Brittney
A married couple in their twilight embarks on a road trip back to the place where they first fell in love, along the way revisiting the history of their love story.
“Down From Dover”
Cast: Holly Taylor, Shane McGhie, Robert Taylor, Bellamy Young, Camryn Manheim, Mary Lane Haskell
After being shunned by her pious widowed father, a pregnant teenager finds support at a home for unwed mothers, where she hopes for the safe return, of the young man she loves, from the Vietnam War.
“Two Doors Down”
Cast: Melissa Leo, Ray McKinnon, Andy Mientus, Katie Stevens, Michael Willett
A family’s lifetime of secrets comes bursting out during a chaotic and comedic New Year’s Eve wedding weekend. Will they make it to witness the “I do’s” without killing one another?
Previously announced stars include Once Upon a Time‘s Ginnifer Goodwin (in an episode based on “These Old Bones”) and Grease: Live‘s Julianne Hough, who will fill the title role in an episode inspired by “Jolene.”
Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings will premiere sometime in 2019.
